Artwork usage guidelines

Tue Oct 7, 2008, 2:01 PM
I've been getting alot of emails regarding the usage of my artwork lately and since my webside is down at the time, i'll type down some guidelines so i dont have to respond to every email :D

___________________________________________________________________

In general, if you use my artwork, put on copyright info which could be my name (Tomas Polcic) or perhaps a link to my deviant art page.

___________________________________________________________________

So with that in mind, you can use my artwork for fun, non-commercial purposes like:

-making signature tags
-making desktop wallpapers
-tube the art (remove the background leaving the original character intact)
-add embellishments (such as glitters & sparkle or different backgrounds)
-animate the art (such as eye blink)
-make web sets for personal sites
-make email stationary

...unless i state otherwise for specific pieces that may have other copyrights etc.

___________________________________________________________________

If you want to use my artwork (or my music) for other purposes including:

-any commercial purposes
-webdesign
-games
-videos

and similar, email me with a request and details and i'll consider it.

Keitaro...Your work is absolutely stunning, thank you for your contribution to DA and to my own growth as an artist, showing what true art looks like. Truly amazing works :)
Thank you and my pleasure :)
wooooah whats your secret to your work? their amazing! wish I could do something like that, similar style. Any suggestions? what do you use? programs? tool? any think you can suggest i could look into, resource materials for tutorials?

haha you're work has me drooooling =P

I'M GONNA STEAL YOUR CANDY!!!
What you use doesnt really matter all that much. You can get similar results from Photoshop or Painter (which i use), Gimp or any half decent bitmap editor. (not MS Paint :D)
Its really just a matter of how you draw which is usually intuitive. I sometimes try to have a different feel or look to my paintings, for example if i like some artist style, but it usually ends up looking like my usual stuff anyway.
Regarding tutorials, try my video [link]
or search for tutorials here on DA, i dont really know any specific ones that would look similar my art.
